Non-Profit, 501(c)(3), Organizations

There are hundreds of 501(c)(3) tax exempt charitable organizations that provide aid and support to veterans, service members, first responders and their families. While both provide support to veterans, 501(c)(3) organizations differ from veterans organizations, such as the American Legion and VFW, in that veterans organizations are fraternal organizations with memberships comprised of veterans. In most cases, support is provided at no cost to the veteran. Funding is derived primarily from tax deductible donations.

Below are a few better known National level Veterans support charities that have earned a Charity Navigator 4 Star (Excellent) rating based on financial health, accounting and accountability. There are many more worthy Nation-wide and local veterans support charities. Click Here for list of approximately a hundred 3 and 4 Star rated veterans 501(c)(3) veterans support charities.
